My two girls love sharing a room together. I wanted to make it special for both of them, and a place they would be excited about sleeping in. Their bedroom is a perfect mix of preppy patterns and girly print. There are lots of DIY details like custom monogrammed pillows, matching headboards and bedskirts, painted lamps and lampshades, and much more! 

I love the look of matching headboards and bedskirts. I knew I wanted some sort of pink patterned fabric, and when I saw those polka dots I fell in love. I used this tutorial for the bedskirts, and created the headboards myself (check back in the future for the tutorial).

I saw the blue and white striped fabric in the clearance remnants section ($2 for 3/4 yard), and knew I wanted to make pillows with it. I had just enough pink polka dot fabric left over to make a “k” and an “i” monogram. I will have the tutorial for them soon!

The bedding and the flamingo pillows are from Target. The bedding had the pink, blue, teal, and beige colors I was using, and I fell in love with the modern floral print. The walls are painted a nice greige color, which is a perfect background for the bright colorful prints and patterns.

To finish it off I added a little reading area for me to sit with them. The chair was an old project of mine that I planned on selling, but I fell in love with it and kept it for myself (that happens a lot!).
